Coming to Philly: The FBI’s Role in Incident Response

Cybersecurity / May 25 , 2022

On June 1-3, 2022, NetDiligence will once again bring the cyber industry together for the annual Cyber Risk Summit Philadelphia conference. A premier education and networking event, the conference will be attended by cyber insurance, as well as legal, regulatory, and technology leaders from all over the globe.

One of the most highly-anticipated programs of this year’s event is the Cyber Fireside Chat between FBI Assistant Director Bryan Vorndran and Guillermo Christensen of Ice Miller.

There are many questions, concerns, and misconceptions in the evolving world of cyber risk, not the least of which surround the role of government agencies like the FBI as it pertains to incident response, ransomware, and mitigating threats.

This year’s attendees will get a chance to hear directly from AD Vorndran about several different topics concerning the FBI’s current and future position on cyber defense.

Listen to the conversation above as Christensen and AD Vorndran give us a snippet of their forthcoming discussion in June.

Topics to be covered at the Cyber Risk Summit Philadelphia:

  • Working with the FBI to handle ransomware attacks
  • FBI lessons learned for IR from recent nation-state attacks
  • What cyber lawyers need to know about the FBI’s approach to incident response
  • Key questions the FBI needs to know during IR (and what they don’t need)
  • The FBI’s role vs. dealing with regulators during a breach (including commentary on OFAC and ransomware payment guidance)
  • Future evolution in the FBI’s role in cyber defense
