Kivu continues global expansion with the opening of London office

The Firm Proudly Announces Anthony Hess as Global Head of PBR Service Line

LONDON, ENGLAND – May 24, 2019 – Kivu Consulting, Inc. has recently opened several new offices in Dallas, Texas and Reston, Virginia, however, it’s the opening of the office in London this week that increases Kivu’s international presence. The firm also announced the appointment of Anthony Hess as Senior Director and Global Head of Post Breach Remediation (PBR). Mr. Hess will run the London office, which is Kivu’s second European location. With ransomware and malware on the rise and insurance clients being one of the prime targets for cyber criminals, Kivu is focusing on mitigating the impact of these incidents by expanding its PBR service line. This service line includes “boots on the ground teams” with expertise in restoring key IT systems and data recovery that can be deployed immediately to client sites to alleviate expensive cyber business interruption claims in a cost-effective manner.

As the newly appointed Global Head of PBR, Anthony Hess brings more than 20 years of experience in IT and cyber security to Kivu. He has worked in various industries, including telecommunications, defense, energy, higher education, and insurance. Before joining Kivu, Mr. Hess was the Head of Incident Response at London based specialist insurer, CFC Underwriting. At CFC, he built and led their first client facing, in-house, incident response team. His team’s exceptional effort resulted in two Advisen Award nominations in 2018 and 2019. In 2017 he led the creation of and launched one of the insurance industry’s first cyber incident response mobile apps, winning the 2017 Advisen Award for Innovation of the Year.

Before his role at CFC, Mr. Hess led KPMG’s Cyber Insurance Services and created one of the first cyber insurance response services in EMEA for a leading insurer. He also partnered with other insurers in London to provide incident response services to their clients.

Mr. Hess holds an MBA from IE Business School (Madrid), a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, and a bachelor’s degrees in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the same university.

“Anthony’s experience and vast breadth of knowledge is a wonderful addition to our already phenomenal team; we are glad that he has decided to join us.” CEO, Kim Niquette on Hess joining Kivu.

Global Managing Director, Winston Krone adds, “We are delighted to open an office in London, bringing us closer to our London-based insurance and legal partners. To further Kivu’s dedication to providing the best in incident response to the cyber insurance market we have chosen Eastcheap for our London office location, a short walk to Lloyd’s and the majority of our clients.” Krone continues, “With our London and Amsterdam offices, we provide solid options to clients facing Brexit uncertainty.”

Kivu has provided incident response, risk management, and forensic investigation services to clients globally since 2009. As the leading provider of digital forensic services to the cyber insurance community in North America and Europe, Kivu continues to provide and deliver technical expertise and innovative and legally sound practical business solutions.
